The RISTA Conference Planning Committee is putting the finishing touches on what we know will be an exciting and informative RISTA Spring Conference.

Keynote for the conference will be Dr. Stephen Pruitt, Senior Vice President of Achieve, Inc.

Dr. Pruitt is best known for his leadership in the development of the Next Generation Science Standards and his involvement in work with the National Academies development of the Framework for K-12 Science Education, which is the basis for the development of the NGSS.  Prior to working on the development of the NGSS, Dr. Pruitt was a Chemistry teacher in Georgia for more than 12 years and worked at the state level in Georgia.

Dr. Pruitt is looking forward to meeting with Rhode Island Science Educators to share his vision of how the Next Generation Science Standards will enable students to engage in science in classrooms across the Ocean State and beyond.

Along with Dr. Pruitt, we will be presenting a wide variety of sessions designed to support RI science educators in their classroom practice.  2015 Conference Sessions are listed here
